Kenneth “Kenny” F. Kruse, 75, of Syracuse, passed away July 13, 2017 at his home. He was born on Nov. 14, 1941, to Joy & Mabel (Wellman) Kruse in Nebraska City.
He married Sharon Earl on July 11, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
He served in the Army reserves from 1963-1969. Early on he co-owned Peterson and Kruse Masonry Construction, but the majority of his life was spent farming and ranching. Kenny served on the St. John’s UCC church council and Nebraska Farm Bureau. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Sharon (Earl) Kruse of Syracuse; children: Seth (Tammy) Kruse and children: Tanner and Jacob of Syracuse, Shannon (Doyle) Brunssen and children: Lindsay, Zachary and Madeline of Waverly, Brenda (Rich) Hillman and children: Ethan, Mitchel and Abigail of Omaha, Bret (Stephanie) Kruse and children: Natalie and Levi of Syracuse; sister: Shirley Dettmer of Syracuse; aunts: Veona Kruse, Leila Kruse and Lois Wellman all of Syracuse.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services were to be held Monday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s UCC in Syracuse. Private family burial will be at Park Hill cemetery at a later date.
Visitation was to be Sunday, July 16, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. with family greeting friends from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
