Ann P. (Gangel) Spalti, age 49, of Omaha, formerly Nebraska City, passed away at her home on June 24, 2017, after suffering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome for many years.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1967, in Nebraska City; the daughter of William Joseph and Charlene June (Rajewich) Gangel.  
She attended St. Mary’s grade school through the fourth grade and then Nebraska City Public Schools where she graduated with the class of 1986.
After graduation, she majored in Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and then transferred to University of Nebraska Omaha to complete her RN degree in Nursing.  
At 18, Ann competed in  the Miss Nebraska competition, winning the talent competition, as she was an accomplished flutist.  
She also enjoyed singing in the choir at St. John Vianney in Omaha.
Ann worked in the 1990’s as the Clinical Nurse Manager at Methodist Physicians Clinic in Omaha.  
Following that, she worked at the Omaha Poison Control Center.
Ann was a devoted and loving mother to three children:  Duncan, Ryan and Julianne Spalti who reside in Omaha; born during Ann’s marriage to Gary Spalti.
She was preceded in death by her father William Gangel of Nebraska City; grandparents:  Joseph and Edna Rajewich of Grand Island and Joseph and Jane Gangel of Nebraska City.
In addition to her three children, she is survived by her mother Charlene Gangel of Nebraska City; brother Mike (Gina) Gangel and sister Jane Slezak (Bob) all of Omaha, brother Tom (Rose) Gangel of Wichita, Kan.; two nephews, three nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins, and three pets that Ann loved.
A Memorial Mass was to be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City with Fr. Michael McCabe celebrating the Mass.  Burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nebraska City.
A Memorial Fund is being established for her three children.
