The 22nd annual Cook Car Show, sponsored by the Cook Lions Club,  was held in downtown Cook on Sunday, July 19th, under beautiful blue skies, white summer clouds, and temps in the mid-80's.  Entries included 178 classic cars spanning the 1940's to the 1990's, the second largest show on record.

The 'Best of Show' featured a 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air pace car owned by Mark and Sherry Pieloch of Lincoln, which is one of only a handful built for the 1955 Indanapolis 500.  Featured along with the classic auto was memorabilia from the actual 1955 Indy 500 race.

Other highlights of the show featured a two-tone gray 1955 Chevy Bel-Air, a green 1949 Cadillac, a Husker red 1947 Willy's panel truck, an orange & gray 1957 Chevy Bel-Air, a skeleton driving a 1949 Chevy Fleetline painted satin black with green flames, and  green 1953 Chevy.  A 1986 Cadillac Hearse complete with coffin drew many onlookers.

A great time was had by attendees who came to admire the paint, shiny chrome and hard work that went into the cars, which are the pride and joy of their owners.

"Thanks to all sponsors, judges, participants and fans for another great show.  See you in 2010!" -Todd Carter, Palmyra
