Palmyra and Lincoln rescue transported four people to the hospital with minor injuries after a Highway 2 accident involving an empty stock trailer.

Elliot Gee, 60, of Palmyra had pulled onto the highway with the trailer around 3:45 p.m. and was getting up to speed when the trailer was hit from behind by a 2006 Dodge Charger driven by 21-year-old Taylor Davis of Plattsburgh, Mo.

The contact forced the trailer into the north ditch where it rolled on its side. Gee's pickup went into the highway median, rolled and came to rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane.

Davis' car ended up in the ditch near the trailer.

Both drivers, a passenger in the pickup and a passenger in the Charger were transported to the hospital.
