The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating burglaries at Shur-Save and Do It Best Hardware in Syracuse that occurred early Friday morning, July 3. Chief Deputy Mike Holland reports that store managers found rear doors open when they went in to open up Friday morning.
Residents living nearby reported dogs barking at around 3:30 a.m. Holland said petty cash-type items were stolen from the establishments, located on 5th Street. The rear doors were damaged from being pried open.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information on the break-ins to contact their office. “We welcome any public information as we try to develop some suspects,” Holland said.
