The 130th Annual Syracuse High School Commencement was held May 12.  The Class of 2018 consisted of 54 students who were recognized for their achievements.
As has been tradition, each graduate presented two special people with yellow roses after the processional.
Lots of tears from moms, grandmas, and teachers ensued.
Platform 11 performed “On Top of the World.”
Valedictorian Emma Bjork and Salutatorian Anna Bohlken delivered addresses to their classmates remembering funny stories and inside jokes while also recognizing all of the many accomplishments of the class.
Thirty-four students (64 percent) were awarded scholarships, and 11 of those received the equivalent of full tuition to the schools that they chose to attend.  The students in the top ten percent of the class were recognized: Kayla Arnold, Sage Beers, Emma Bjork, Anna Bohlken, Jalyn Bryan, Brendon Lyon, and Livia Wilhelm.
Students greeted family and friends in the Commons Area following the ceremony before rushing off to many graduation parties.
The 2018 Class motto from Albert Einstein: “Everybody is a genius.  But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
