Merlin and Connie Hartman made yet another trip to Denison, Iowa. They enjoyed having dessert with Ray and Janet Neumann of Madrid, Iowa, and Allan Hulsebus of Denison, following the meeting.
The Douglas Senior Center held their December birthday dinner on Wednesday. The December birthday honorees and their guests were Ardys Brugman and her guests were Terry Brugman and Linda Towle; Eliott Boldt and his guest was Stan Hall; and Charlie Hladik and his guest was Doris Hladik.  The group enjoyed a program of Christmas carols sung by the Junior and Senior High Chorus of the Palmyra Schools.  Cakes were made by Ardys Brugman, Roxanne Laschansky, and the Syracuse kitchen.  
Sunday Merlin and Connie Hartman enjoyed a pre-Christmas gathering at the home of Patrice and Allan McCready in Lincoln.  Lisa Hartman and Patty Odell of Bellevue were also there.  After lunch they all enjoyed the gift opening.  Lots of expressions of delight took place as the five girls, ages 15 through 3, opened their gifts.  
The Douglas United Methodist Church pulled together details of their Christmas Eve program.  The program will include the Word, music and evidence of Santa’s visit.  It all will begin at 7:30 p.m.  The doors will be open to everyone.
