The Syracuse Journal-Democrat will host a “Trail of Treats” in downtown Syracuse on Oct. 31.  Children will be welcome to trick or treat at participating businesses from 2 to 5 p.m.
Elementary students in Pre-k through fifth grade will go with their classes in a Halloween Parade which will give kids a chance to show off their costumes and have fun with their classmates. After the parade, kids will trick or treat.
Community members, parents, and friends are encouraged to attend the parade at  2 p.m. It will run from east of Plum Street down Main Street to Mohawk Street. Businesses that do not have stores on Main Street will set up tables during this time. The Journal-Democrat will take pictures of children with photos to be published with each child’s name in the weeks following the event.
 The Trail of Treats will continue throughout the afternoon of Oct. 31 to give all community children a chance to participate.  A full page ad will run Oct. 27 in the Journal-Democrat recognizing all those businesses who will participate in the Trail of Treats.In addition to these Halloween activities, trick or treating will be at Good Sam from 3-5, Dairy Chef at 3, Lindenview 5-7, and Luther Memorial trunk or Treat 5-7.
