The Otoe County Board of Commissioners signed a resolution approving an interlocal agreement with the City of Syracuse to continue to provide law enforcement services at its July 11 meeting.
The new agreement, which still needs to be approved by the Syracuse City Council, will provide three years of law enforcement services.
The current agreement expires at the end of September. said Otoe County Attorney David Partsch, who worked on the agreement with Otoe County 3rd District Commissioner Jerad Sornson.
“We wanted to have it done for the [county’s] budget process,” Partsch said at the meeting.
Commissioners also passed a resolution to allow the Nebraska Department of Roads to inspect 20 fracture-critical bridges within the county.
The commissioners will next meet at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25.
