Parents spread out in lawn chairs all around the two giant water slides at the Unadilla Park Saturday and enjoyed an afternoon of visiting with friends while watching children shriek, slide, and splash down the hill.
Hundreds gathered in Unadilla June 24 for the annual Unadilla Days celebration.  The 5K ran through the town and yard sales were spread throughout, but the main area of activity was at the park.
In addition to the water slide, the Unadilla Christian Church offered kids games which included the ever popular water balloon toss, and children from ages 3-12 competed in the Little Tuggers Pedal Tractor Pull.
The Tim Boerner Memorial Horseshoe Tournament was held; softball games were played on the field. With proceeds to the Unadilla Area Fund, a free-will donation BBQ by Orchard Hill was enjoyed by many at the picnic shelter while listening to the Southeast Community Band perform by the playground.
Visitors and community members were invited to check out the community center history room, Veteran’s room, and resource room.  Unadilla Fire and Rescue had an open house at the fire hall and offered free blood pressure checks at the park.
It was an event with something for everyone, and the village of Unadilla hosted a phenomenal day of fun with the help of many eager volunteers.
