The Nebraska City High School Alumni Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Scholarships.
The Foundation is able to give out $57,000 in scholarships and grants due to our gracious donors.
The scholarship winners, donors and honor class of 1967 will be recognized at the annual banquet on May 27. All NCHS Alumni are welcome to attend and can contact the foundation at nchsalumnifoundation@gmail.com to make a reservation or pick up a reservation form at Central Apple Market in Nebraska City.
Daniel Dubas will be awarded the Snyder/ Wilcox Family Scholarship. Daniel is the son of John and Debra Dubas. He will be attending Southeast Community College majoring in software development.
Kobe Sammons will also be awarded a Snyder/Wilcox Family Scholarship. He is attending Missouri Welding Institute earning certificates in welding. Kobe is the son of Jeremy and Bobbie Sammons.  
Whitney Parker is the daughter of Jeff and Janice Parker. She will be awarded a Woolsey and Josephine Davis Memorial Scholarship. Whitney will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in business finance.
Magen Jorgensen will also be awarded a Woolsey and Josephine Davis Memorial Scholarship. Magen is the daughter of Craig and Gretchen Jorgensen. She will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an undecided major.
A new scholarship this year is to honor a long-time board member. The Mary Adams Givehand Scholarship is awarded to Christian Martinez. He is the son of Ruben Martinez and Maria Ramirez. Christian plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University majoring in health administration.
Megan Aultz is the daughter of Bill and Kathy Aultz. She plans to attend Midland University majoring in special education and will be awarded the Stella Gump Memorial Scholarship.
Tessa Kinart will be awarded the Herbert Hansen Scholarship. Tessa is the daughter of Debra Kinart and plans to attend Midland University to major in elementary education.
The Don McGaffey memorial Scholarship will be awarded to Kaitlyn Smallfoot. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Ryan and Christina Smallfoot. She plans to attend Kansas State University majoring in mechanical engineering.
The Doris McGaffey Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Miranda Harding. She is the daughter of Robert Harding and Colleen Boenmer. Miranda plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in pre-pharmacy.
Kelsie Stovall will be awarded the Wilma McIntire memorial Scholarship. Kelsie is the daughter of Marty and Dana Stovall. She will be attending Nebraska Wesleyan University majoring in business and nursing.
Derek Riege will receive the Roger Johnson Scholarship. Derek will be attending Northeast Community College majoring in education. His parents are Mike and Janis Riege.
Bryanne Simonson will receive the Peru State College Scholarship. She will be attending college there majoring in accounting. She is the daughter of Cynthia Baker and Kevin Simonson.
Brennen Russell will be awarded the Frank M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship. Brennen is the son of Andrew and Shari Russell. He will be attending Southeast Community College majoring in land surveying.
Keianna Bahr will be awarded an Edward Volkmer Memorial Scholarship. Keianna is the daughter of Keith and Carmen Bahr. She plans to attend Southeast Community College majoring in nursing.
Brennen Bales will be awarded an Edward Volkmer Memorial Scholarship. Brennen is the son of Tom and Sheila Bales. He will attend Northeast Community College majoring in business administration.
Andrew Harrah will be awarded an Edward Volkmer Memorial Scholarship. He will be attending Northeast Community College majoring in business.  His parents are Robert Harrah and Molly Chapin.
Jared Nemec will be awarded an Edward Volkmer Memorial Scholarship. Jared will be attending Northeast Community College with an undecided major. He is the son of James and Pamela Nemec.
Brenna Turner will receive an Edward Volkmer Memorial Scholarship. She will be attending Northeast Community College to become a veterinary technician. She is the daughter of Bryan and Melissa Turner.
Jennifer Moyer will be awarded the Class of 1967 Scholarship. She will attend Bryan College of Health Sciences majoring in nursing. Jennifer is the daughter of Kyle Moyer and Roxy Moyer.
