Rain dampened the outside activities at the 2011 Tannenbaum in Syracuse Dec. 3, but not the spirits of those who showed up for the fun.

This year's Germanfest will offer event goers plenty of classic Germanfest activities along with some new ones that may soon become favorites.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Mid-County Post #5547 and the American Legion Massie-Richards Post #100 held their Memorial Day services at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.
Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse will be the site of two Memorial Day services this year. Immediately following the annual American Legion service held at the Veteran’s Memorial at 11 a.m., there will be a second service at the Civil War Cannon, north of the Memorial.
The 2010-2011 music year for Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High School came to an end on May 9 with a music banquet held in the Middle School commons area.
Instructor Erin Poe commended students for their hard work over the past year and said goodbye to the senior members of choir and band. “This is by far the hardest year that I've had to do this,” she said.

Another Groundhog Celebration is in the books!
Activities at the gym were fairly well attended although only about 50 people came to listen to Don Ulrich give his presentation on Vietnam. Of course with the weather being what it was and the change in time, it wasn't totally unexpected.
