Fall sports have arrived and this year’s edition of the Fall Sports Preview is set to hit news stands on Thursday.

The Syracuse Journal-Democrat Fall Sports Preview covers S-D-A and Palmyra sports teams. Also see our gallery to view team photos online.
Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca teams open season play this week and next.
The golfers will host a home invitational at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26.
The softball team will be at home for a game against Fort Calhoun at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 and will also host a tourney at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28.
Volleyball opens the season on Sept. 2 at home against Fort Calhoun before traveling to play at the Platteview Invite at 8 a.m. Sept. 4.
The Rocket football team will open play at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at Lincoln Lutheran.
