Ethel Marsden age 89, of Ames, died at Green Hills Health Care Unit on Aug. 11, 2016. A celebration of life memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 27, at First United Methodist Church Sixth Street and Kellogg Avenue in Ames.

Ethel was born in Boone County, on Sept. 21, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Edna Miller. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended the University of Iowa. She married Clement Marsden and the couple lived in, Ogden, Harlan and Eldora before retiring to Ames. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ames, PEO Chapter HN and Ames Choral Society.

She is survived by her children, Jean Marsden, of Ames, Paul (Cherry) Marsden, of Ankeny, Hugh (Sheri) Marsden, of Ames, daughter-in-law Rebecca Rosenbaum and a sister Lura Treloar, of Cedar Falls, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by, her parents, husband, Clement, son Steven, three brothers and two sisters.
