The Thermometer inside the Polk City Library’s door shows $1316 has been raised for the electronic sign through donations and purchase of bricks/blocks.

Friends of the Polk City Library is a huge force in the support of the library’s many programs and facility improvements.

In January, they commenced a two-year fundraiser to buy an electronic sign for approximately $10,000, which will be placed on Broadway Street side of the library.

They restored the ‘Library’s Walk of Memories’ along the entrance, encouraging the community to buy a brick or granite block, engraving it with a personal quote, song or names.

Friends will match some of the donations and will apply for grants.

The library will use the sign to promote programs for children and adults, new books, meetings and other information.
