When the 192nd Military Police Detachment based in Nebraska City, and the rest of the 67th Battle Field Surveillance Battalion (or Pike Brigade), deploys to Iraq in the spring, the soldiers will be prepared — and so will their families.
Those are the goals of a more than year-long training program for the soldiers and the Nebraska National Guard’s Family Readiness Program.
Col. Philip Stemple, battalion commander, explained the time line for preparations during a town hall meeting held at the armory in Nebraska City Thursday.
Stemple presented the “Road to War” timeline, outlining the preparations the battalion will undergo before deployment. Another town hall meeting will be held in the spring to explain more details about the actual mission.
